Are you a fan of arts and crafts? Do you enjoy repurposing old materials? Then this is the event for you. We will be using old climbing rope that has been retired from the walls and crags and giving it new life as part of a basket, coaster, coozie, pet bed--you decide! Local climbing, and rope crafting expert, Cindy Su, will be here to show examples, give advice, and answer questions, but feel free to work from your own creativity and inspiration.Â
Â
We will provide ropes to use for anyone who needs them, but if you have your own that you would like to bring, feel free. This event is open to all ages, so gather your friends and family, and get ready for a fun evening.
Â
Food, drinks, and a chance to win some great Patagonia Gear will be available inside.Â
Cindy Su (she/her/hers) was born and raised in Massachusetts and started climbing in 2013. She has been scaling walls all over the country, with a particular soft spot for New Hampshire crags. These days she’s focusing on ice climbing in the winter and trad climbing in the spring and fall. She is passionate about combining her social work background with outdoor recreation to create and sustain inclusive affinity spaces where Folks of Color can learn how to climb in an authentic environment. Cindy is deeply involved with Brown Girls Climb and is a Local Leader for the MA chapter. She is a co-founder of Summit in Color Collective where she guides with other MA based Guides of Color to run People of Color specific climbing clinics. Cindy is dedicated to creating outdoor spaces that are both physically and emotionally safe, where people can have fun and create long lasting memories.
